Why work sequence matters in site coordination

Different activities share space and time on a construction site. Discussing work sequence makes interfaces between teams and pending decisions visible.

01

Identify dependencies

An activity may depend on another task being completed or a decision being resolved. Drawings, site preparation and materials should be considered within these relationships. A plan should explain those links, not merely list dates.

02

Keep site information current

As work progresses, new information about access, work areas and existing installations can emerge. Agree how changes reach the relevant people. Records supported by photographs and current drawings help participants understand the same issue.

03

Include review points in the plan

Do not leave every review and handover question until the end. Discuss when information or completed work should be reviewed alongside the scope. This keeps the relationship between completed work and the next step clear.
